I don't think one can applyfor an OPT if one already has a masters degree from the US and an MBA is considered a masters degree too.

You can if you have any remaining time as part of that OPT.

I checked the corporation bank website, they are saying that maximum limit is INR 20L not 25L.

After thorough ( online only) research on cosigning, I conclude that it will be almost impossible to find one ( especially since the connections I could get so far are kind of friends' friends' relative etc.).

So, now the things depend on how much a school have faith in its admitted candidates, and how far a school can go to support them. I am waiting for the school to reopen.

I didn't mean asking precisely that, praz knows it otherwise he would have answered..:-)

I was wondering whether Engineering schools (for graduate studies) are perceived to belong in various clusters ala Business schools.

Because I believe that such categorization makes less sense for engineering schools, if not for any reason than so many possible areas of study.

Saying top 3 based on a particular area of study as Praz did makes more sense.

I hear the overall application volume went up by 20-25%.What about Indians? Did the number of Indian applicants go up because of the global economic conditions?

fall09,

I am applying to UNC and during one of their chats, the adcom mentioned that the volumes of Indian applicants have been 'surprisingly' down this year whereas overall volumes are up. I was kind of taken aback, silently happy that that would mean less competition for us. :)

IMO, the main driver for this is the unavailability of non co-signer loans..

I think it is due to Loan and Visa issues.

And I think the average Indian applicant is more aware of the H1B fiasco now.
May be EU schools are seeing an increase in Indian applications?

I know a friend who skipped US univs for European schools because of the H1 visa.He thought it is not worthwhile to attend US schools when there is no guarantee of getting a work visa.
