Voted "No" because I am not explicitly pursuing an MBA to just advance my career (there are several personal considerations involved), and the fact that while having an MBA would makes things easier, it would by no means be a requirement for me to move ahead in my career.

I answered yes because, while I share solaris1's views that an MBA alone isn't enough, it is enough formal education which I think was the original question. That's not to say I would never do any other educational programs run by a business school in the 30 or so years between when I graduate with an MBA and when I retire, but this will be my last formal degree program.

I answered Yes because I just sold my car to finance a jetski and to pay off my grad school debt, and I don't want to pay for another degree after MBA.

Total cost of BBA: $45k/yr for 3 years
Total cost of MS: $50k
Total cost of Prof Certifications: $1.5k
Estimated Cost of MBA: $80k

Total Higher Education Cost: $266,500

I think if I spent $266.5k on lotto tickets, I might have had a jackpot and I could have retired. Why don't they teach that in college?

I actually just worked this out in a graduate level probabilty class I am taking.

Let's just say that the probability of picking 2 of 5 winning numbers (out of 50) correctly is .099%.

Matching 3, 4 and 5 numbers all yield probabilities of FAR FAR FAR less than 1% .....

just something to brighten your day 8-)

yeah, assuming there are 50 numbers and you are trying to pick five, you would have to buy over 2 million tickets to cover all the combinations.

haha they DO teach it in school (stats).

on the probability of winning the lotto "https://members.cox.net/mathmistakes/rawdata.htm" :P

the author calls it a "voluntary tax"
