thanks for the reply
looking fwd to get my hands on the completed xls file

I was looking forward for a way to include the "question" That i tried in the excel file ... as no way to do in excel i tried using the google doc in the following way ...

I found a bug ... may be Excel bug or google doc ... I try to maintain a online google doc of all the WRONG ques .. in the excel file when i insert a hyperlink like "https://docs.google.com/Doc?docid=0ZGQ3MzNoem5f4Y3NyN2hqZng&hl=en#Ques_3" then ideally on clicking this link i should see the ques but i see the index in browser ... BUT the URL in the browser doesnt include the #Ques_3 is sth like "https://docs.google.com/Doc?docid=0ZGQ3MzNoem5f4Y3NyN2hqZng&hl=en"

It seems like a bug in MS excel ... not sure ... may be others can try similar thing and confirm

let me knwo if i need to explain more

Re: GMAT Error Log [#permalink]
Hi, it was clear. I understood what you want.
i am using spoilt error log v0.0.7 in my signature.
I use the notes field for this purpose. I write the question number in notes field. Add a auto filter in excel using DATA-FILTER-AUTO FILTER.
so we have source field . type field . Correct field. And number of question in notes field. Using filter i can easily filter it.
Try it it's easy.
please don't hesitate if you need more help. Sorry using my mobile otherwise i would have attached snapshot.

Hey Spoilt, this is awesome error-log! I'm using your v0.07 for your GMAT study.

I was wondering if you can integrate in an auto stopwatch function inside your sheet, so in that way users can have a better understanding on what types of questions he/she needs to really practice from a timing strategy perspective.

I attached an old error-log I downloaded long time ago from GMAT Club. It has the auto stopwatch function.

Yes sure why not. For the moment you can use GMATtimer by sir Walker - It's a very useful tool. I will check the source code in the attached excel and update log ASAP.

I am really glad to know that my error logs are useful to many GMAT club members for their preparation.

Please feel free to provide your valuable feedbacks and suggestions.

Hello Jasonlu1981 and GMATClub members,

I have updated the Spoilt Error Log V0.0.7 with timer functionality.
"TestGrid4GMAT_latest_version.xls" code was very complex and inefficient. I have used better, simple and efficient code.

To start timer you have to double click the 'Your Answer' Cell, select value and double click on 'OA' cell timer to stop. I can only attach 2 files in one post, so I have included snapshot in help page of the attached sheet. Try it !!!

Please don't hesitate if you need more help.

Changes:
1. Timer functionality included.
2. Updated Clear Log button. (button will be automatically deleted)

Hi,

Great work guys! I'm just starting to study for my GMAT and decided to use the first error log (friendly error log by Saruba). I have a couple of (stupid) questions:
- What is OA? Is that the correct answer?
- How do I actually use it? Each question that I get wrong I enter into the log and then review the appropriate areas in the last 2 weeks? There is no field for page number or w/e, so how do I record that?

Thanks!

Hey nickk, thank your for using the friendly error log.

1) The OA is the Official Answer. As you say it is the correct answer.
2) The idea of the error log is to record your performance in order to get information of your weaknesses as well as to know the areas for improvement. In short, it helps to focus on the areas where you have more difficulties.
There's no page number because you don't necessarily need it, you can select the book you are using and the question you're referring. Eventually, I didn't consider correct questions to be included in the error log (in fact the name itself is just that).

This is a beta release so it's not perfect, maybe neither appropriate. There are some other error logs that seem to be more updated, maybe you find them more useful.
In case you didn't read about it, the password is 8887.

Good luck!

competition-for-the-best-gmat-error-log-template-86232.html#p646420

It is updated and password is removed.

Saruba : I have already updated your error log (first page of this post)

i read through the entire thread, but i'm still a little confused (or maybe more confused?) because there were so many updates to the error logs. these are the conclusions that i've drawn:

1) saruba's friendly error log won.
2) spoilt then created the awesome error log which improves upon saruba's friendly error log?
3) the awesome error log is now the preferred choice?

will someone please correct me if i'm mistaken? thanks!

Hi username123, After Competition, I improved all 3 logs (Friendly_by_Saruba, Awesome_by_Saruba_Spoilt_Trianglock and my entry GMATClub Error Log )

1)Yes you are right - Saruba's friendly error log won.
2) No, the Awesome Error log(Created by Trianglock + updated by Spoilt) is combined result all three logs by Saruba, Spoilt and Trianglock.
3) All logs are preferred - use the one that is good for you. (Try it!!)

All suggestions are welcome, I will keep on updating the logs.
