During the 365 days of a certain year, all the temperatures were recorded. during the first 182 days, the lowest temp was 17F, median was 38F, and max temp==43F. During the next 183 days, min temp= 37F, max temp=73F and median= 54F. Which of the following may be the median of the whole year?

A. 35F
B 39F
C. 43F
D 45F

I agree with oxon...

We have the following six values:

17,37,38,43,54,73

The median according to these will be between 38 and 43

Isn't it possible to raise the median to 43?

Because the first set has an even number of
elements, one could define the set as

17, 33, 43, 43

and still have a median of 38. Combine that
with 37, 43, 54, 55, 73 and one gets

17, 33, 37, 43, 43, 43, 54, 55, 73.
