Couple of days back I read in newspaper that even IIMs are planning to make CAT tests somewhat like GMAT, i.e. adaptive test and give the exam anytime in the yr like GMAT. For this IIMs are planning to build a database questions. The implementation may take another 2-3 yrs :)

This could be interesting ... as someone who remembers going through Class X CBSE travails. I am all for trying to find alternate ways to test which doesnt reward photographic memory but an ability to apply what you know.

The only think class X was useful for was developing a work ethic - I learnt absolutely nothing of value that entire year.

Not a bad idea. Definitely better than the pointless arithmetic speed tests (80 questions in 8 minutes) trading firms give (no similarity to the actual work they'll be doing).
