Huh, that does make the decision harder.

Well, we'll see. I should be due for an upgrade and I resentfully acknowledge the fact that I should probably get a smartphone of some sort.

It will take an apocalyptic event to get me to join Facebook, though.

Depends on the school, but I think most universities have worked out student discounts on plans with one or more of the major networks. I think usually around 10% off or so. Don't know about on equipment though, since I had my iPhone from before school started.

Is it possible to make the new Android phones (i'm on T-mobile and do not anticipate switching, so it would be the My Touch probably) sync with your outlook to get automatic email updates, or is that exclusively a blackberry function? Sorry, if this is a stupid question (I am not particularly technologically inclined). I'm debating whether to go with Blackberry because of the ease of use issue. However, I really like the Droid phones.

Also, does anyone know if if Ascendo Money has some sort of budget function where I can enter in items I'm spending money on and compare it against what I had budgeted for?

Re: Cell phones and plans [#permalink]
I have been using the nexus one now for three days and personally I think that it ia a great phone. I have an itouch and the display and multimedia features are comparable if not
better. The only problem I have is with tmobiles less than extensive 3g coverage which nakes ny coverage great in cities but bad as soon as you leave the surrounding area. Google juat released the att version of the phone so I am considering switching to att.

Edit: obviously still getting used to typing on this thing :)

It should. I have a few friends that have Android phones and don't have any problems getting their mail on the phone. The IT dept. at your school (or current students) would be able to say for sure what smartphones work with the school's email system.

If you're staying with T-Mobile, you should also check out the Nexus One.
