Re: NYU Stern-Langone Fall 2010 [#permalink]
I got admitted yesterday, so I dont have the official package yet with all the other info. Anyway, I want to get my Kroll process started ASAP and it is asking for "School ID" does anyone have this number? I'm assuming this is differnt from the NYU student number on the admisson letter.

Thank you

Finally heard back from Kroll today, after 2 weeks of waiting. They asked me to submit W2 or paystubs from my previous job, as HR was only able to provide dates of employment. Ugh, such a nuisance! I hope I have this stuff readiliy available at home.

Hi MCJD4ever - Did they ask you for paystubs and W-2 from all your previous jobs or just one previous job (the last one). I think I should start looking for them as well, just in case :-). Any insights will be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi bskool2010,

They asked for paystubs and/or a W2 from my previous employer (I've had 2 employers since I graduated college 4 years ago). My previous employer's HR department was only able to verify my dates of employment, so they said I could either fax them 3 paystubs for each year that I worked there, or a W2. I had the paystubs on-hand, so I opted to fax those over.

They replied back this morning and said they have everything they need and that my report was "due at NYU this week" so I'm hoping to officially complete this process soon.

Yup they asked me similar things too, no W2 though, just paystubs and and employment verification letter. They also wanted a copy of my degree. I started the process a month ago; hope it will be completed soon.

Thank you MCJD4ever and Nick79 for your response.

Nick79 - While filling out the NYU application, did you get your transcripts and degree certified from the Consulate ( assuming you are an international student)? Also how long after you started the verification process did they ask you for your transcripts and degree certificate?

MCJD4ever - Did they ask for your transcripts and degree as well ?

Thank you guys for your insight.

Hi everyone,
I just got into weekend program, which was my first choice. I got a notification the next day after the interview. For whose of you who has interview scheduled, I'd say that it was very informal. The interviewer really made an effort to be very welcoming and laid back. The majory of question were about my job experience. I also think that they wanded to make sure I understood what I was getting into. Good luck to all of you, who is still waiting.

Hi, not from the consulate but I had an academic equivalency evaluation done by a certified (pm me for details, not sure i can post specific references on here) translating company. I started the process on 6/22 and they asked me to confirm the info on 6/23 (employment) and 7/7 (education), which I provided right away since I have electronic docs for everything. I haven't heard anything else since then.

They did not ask for my transcripts or undergratuate degree. They only needed to verify my salary from my previous job because HR there would only give them the dates that I worked there.

I would assume Kroll would be able to verify most undergraduate programs in the US. But, like Nick79, if you're international, you should probably expect that they'll ask you for transcripts/degree, etc.

I knew something was up! I called today only to find out my application wasn't even in process. Even though I faxed the document and PAID them in June. I'm only hoping that they can wrap up the entire process by August 10th, although I've heard it takes 5 weeks for them to complete it.

I guess to make sure things go smoothly, I'll start making electronic copies of my degree, W2 forms and paystubs.

On a brighter note, I got all my health forms in!!

Lastly, congrats to the recent admits.

Is the Kroll process supposed to be done by the 10th? That seems like a quick turn around considering some of you are saying it takes 2 months... as I just received my admissions packet on Thursday and submitted the signed form on Monday.
I am guessing it takes a lot longer if you are international? I am from the US, so hopefully it will not take that long!

arruhbee,

Did you call Kroll? I had received some communication from Kroll (sent all that info in mid-June), but my application status check page (the one that informed me of the admission, not the 'new student tour' page) now asks me to 'initiate the Kroll process' ! I hope it's just an un-updated message, for the Kroll process has already started for me, and Kroll staff have asked for undergrad degree cert copies many weeks back, and the fee for Kroll paid. No further communication from Kroll for the last several weeks though.

I called the admissions office and they asked me to email my questions to them than to call.

I re-read the supplement on the Kroll verification process and it says that your final verification must be completed in order for you to be eligible to take classes. So I'm guessing that means that your information has to be in by September 20th...EEK! You do need to begin the Kroll process no later than three weeks from the receipt of your admission letter.

I called Kroll to find out why I hadn't received any correspondence. If you have received something from them, you will have to talk to NYU about the status as Kroll isn't allowed to provide updates once the process has been initiated.

Re: NYU Stern-Langone Fall 2010 [#permalink]
so I guess unless there's some documentation pending from the applicant, the onus is on Kroll to finish the verification in a timely manner. As long as one has initiated it soon and provided all docs they have asked for, I would not worry about it then. In the real world, however, I would certainly keep my tabs on this process, to make sure that it's proceeding as expected.

So Kroll wont talk, and NYU would not know till the process is completed. Nice chicken-egg/catch-22?

ukyo: I couldn't find my records so I just had the doctor do a blood test and all my results came positive: which means I have immunity to MMR. I still haven't received the official package so not sure what else is needed.
