Citizens of a country enjoy certain rights, at the same time they are bound to carry out certain duties towards their country. I am of the opinion that each and every citizen of a country is thus duty bound to obey the law of the land.
Let up for a moment imagine a situation where the citizens were free to act as per their will and wishes. It would result in total anarchy. The powerful and influential citizens would do pretty much as they liked, while the less privileged citizens would be deprived of even the basic rights. Land grabbing, Tax evasion, robbery, and murder would be the norm.
With there being scant respect for the laws, it would not be long before social mores and norms are sacrificed. Imagine people not queuing for buses, not respecting the aged and physically challenged! It would be a free for all and the society would resemble a jungle. Thus it is essential that the citizens respect and obey the law of the land.
Indeed it could be argued that certain legislations could be flawed and be detrimental to the nation or society. Yes I agree, flawed legislations do happen, even if only very rarely. However, the citizens have adequate opportunities, through democratic processes and the judicial system to tackle such situations.
Therefore to sum up, citizens of a country must have utmost respect for the law, since this is the very foundation of a civilised society.
Sorry, but it is way too short, you should write at least double... Also, I would suggest that you split up your paragraphs and add keywords such as On one side/on the other side or On the first hand/ On the other hand.
Have a look at the template provided on the forum to get a 6.0, it is very useful
