While I imagine there are many explanations, the simple one is: HBS does not rely on its tuition as much as almost any other school. They have an incredibly profitable publishing company... and, from what I've heard, a rather successful alumni that is known for giving back to the school : ) (Not that the other top schools don't have that alumni, as well).

From what I have read, HBS' tuition does not cover the costs it incurs to have you as a student.
