Why MBA – I currently have what I consider a pretty good job - challenging work, competitive salary, and lots of room to move up quickly. However, I'd like to change industries to something I am more passionate about (possibly health care, energy, or something dealing with sustainability/social responsibility type issues). My current work experience transitions well into the banking industry but not much else after that. I feel an MBA would provide me with the skill set to me more qualified for a job I'm looking for. I'm pretty open minded to what opportunities open up
EC – Volunteer at Habitat For Humanity when time allows; however, I travel considerably for my job, which limits my amount of community involvement
Here are the schools I'm thinking about -
University of Minnesota - Top choice, I'm from the Minnesota originally and would like to move back there at some point and quite a few of the companies I'd be interested in recruit at Carlson
U Texas; UNC; UCLA; Vanderbilt - All good programs, UCLA obviously being the best in the list, all offer an area of interest and school culture that seems appealing to me
I'm hoping to get some feedback on what my chances are for admission and if you have any additional info on any of the schools - or if you can think of another program would fit the brief description i just posted. Thanks!
