I scheduled my interview on campus with an admissions officer. Obviously, on-campus interviews are non-blind, but does anyone know if the conversational style of the interview that people have said for alumni interviews exist for ones with admission officers? Anyone know of any differences?

Also to share a little about myself, I have about 2-3 WE in public accounting and looking to switch careers. GPA was around 3.8 but not from a top undergrad school. Extracurriculars centered around doing volunteer accounting work for a non-profit.

just interviewed on monday, was conversational with knowledge of application (notes from readers, but interviewer had only read my resume not read my essays). i was scheduled for an admissions officer, but they switched it to a second year student. similar questions to those listed before, was friendly and not uncomfortably formal. best of luck, cheers and good holiday!

Dear All,
I got my interview invite on tuesday from cornell. I will be in New York for just one day on 10/12/2010 and was wondering if it was possible to actually travel to Ithaca or may be have an alumni interview in New York itself. Unfortunately I will be traveling for the next two weeks, but i really do not wish to have a phone interview.

Would appreciate your thoughts on the same.

If you are in NYC, i find it hard to believe they'd do an alumni interview but you'd have to find out. Ithaca is about 4 hrs away from NYC so they'd expect you to make that drive so you can see the campus too. I definitely think you can drive to ithaca early in the AM then drive back in the same day

In this forum we have only heard about one interview invitation for 2nd round. However, it seemed a special case...
I am also waiting for a 2nd round invitation.

Hi - I did call Johnson today with some updates to my Round 1 application and the lady noted that they are still going thru Round 1 invites.

Hopefully we hear something back - I pray for both of us :)



Hey Nikki, did Adcom speak about the deadlines for interview invites for R1? Will R1 people be dinged/accepted or moved over to R2 batch?

They said that they are still working through Round 1 applicants and send out interview invites for them. They didn't mention anything about deadlines for interview invites. Solely based on the posts on this forum, it seems like Cornell sends out interview invites every Tuesday. But again I might be mistaken. Good luck!!

Can someone please share insights on if a candidate can be waitlisted without an interview specifically for Cornell. I was reading chat transcripts from Accepted.com, but no information on the same.

Any insight will be much appreciated as my hopes fade :(

I applied R2 and got an interview invite today. I submitted my application on Nov 8th, but didn't have my recommendations in until Nov 9th.

The first round two invite(email? call?)....yikes!

Is your R2 interview a rare case like the previous one? Also can you provide insight on your profile?

Thanks for your thoughts. Decided to visit Cornell after all, had to reschedule my flights and convince my boss regarding extending my stay. But all is done now.

I'm in the same situation. I submitted on 4th Oct and ever since it says "currently under review". One of my friends who had applied last year didn't get a result even after 1st round deadline. There was no change in his status, and by that time he got into Duke. So he withdrew from Cornell. But that was last year and it doesn't mean it'll happen to us.
