U of Washington - Foster impressions

I recently participated in a class visit at the Foster school. Two things stood out the most: friendly (& competent) students and excellent infrastructure.
The students I chatted with were very easygoing, and took an active interest in me and my work (especially when I mentioned I worked for a renewable energy firm), and they seem to take teamwork and collaboration very seriously. Also, judging from the numerous trophies displayed in the hall, their case competition teams are a force to be reckoned with.
Another thing that stood out was their dramatically improved infrastructure. Paccar Hall is a gorgeous and well connected (WiFi wise) new building that would be the envy of any b-school, and other new facilities were under construction as well (although I don't know whether those who enroll in the next 2-3 years would enjoy the benefits of these new facilities under construction).
All in all, this school gave me a favorable impression that exceeded my expectations, especially in light of its relatively low rankings.
EDIT: Another thing I like about Foster is its advantageous geographical location. Seattle is a hub for major corporations such as McKinsey, Microsoft, Boeing, Starbucks, Amazon, Expeditors, RealNetworks, etc. It has a diverse community with sizable Chinese and Russian communities. For those who want to want networking & career opportunities related to the Asia Pacific or the Former USSR, this is definitely a place to consider.
