I think they sent the batch of emails later in the day last year. One person mentioned 4:30 EST.

Glad to know there are others just as crazy and nervous as I am! hahaha

Seriously... I can't stand it anymore, ahhhhhh

Sorry, that probably just sent another e-mail to your inbox...

btw, would the GT happen to stand for Georgia Tech? If so, Go Jackets! :-D

It does! My husband (also a GT grad) jokes that if I end up getting in/going to school at MIT he will make and wear a shirt saying "MIT - the Georgia Tech of the North". hahaha- so terrible!

Are you a Tech grad as well?

Yes I am! ISyE 2007 grad. I'd love to buy one of those shirts from him, let's hope we both get in and get to wear those shirts!!! And good luck to everyone else too! Now to look as if I'm working for the rest of this long long day...

I could be overanalyzing this but there actually may be a day or 2 delay with the emails due to the crazy snow storm in the northeast after Christmas. Considering we submitted on the 15th, that would give the ad com 14 business days to decide - identical to last years timeline (with a day off for Christmas eve). The storm hit sunday so perhaps the office was closed the Monday and possibly Tuesday thus delaying their decisions. They're obviously not going to rush this, so an assumed delay of 1 or 2 days seems reasonable.

Maybe we hear tomorrow or Friday?

Or did someone already get their invite and enjoying our misery? Haha let's see.

Here is my analysis... There will be no interviews this year and they wont tell us that, so by March 8th, when we are bald and with heart conditions they will give a us a call to let us know we are in.

Re: 2011 MIT Sloan Leaders for Global Operations (LGO) thread [#permalink]
Back in December, Leah (LGO Admissions Coordinator) wrote me in an email stating, "You would receive the interview invitation via email. Most invites will be emailed out to applicants by the end of the second week of January. Although, we have no definite dates set at this time."

I'm thinking it's probably too late for the emails to still come out today (assuming at least one active forum member will be receiving an interview invitation). It is a little funny though that we've all been anxiously waiting throughout this (slightly) arbitrary day when in reality they may have never had any intention in sending out invites today. Everyone, we are ridiculous!! :-)

I received an answer to an email I sent Leah today about half hour ago which seems kind of late for them to be at the office if something big was not going on. The email response contained:

"[...] The review process will begin shortly.
"

Something that begins shortly does not begin tomorrow, it seems to me that it was just started today, so either today or within the next two days they should have scanned all the applications and be able to tell whom they want to call for interviews (this of course given that the reviewing board is comprised of a lot of people, which I think it is).

Guyz, did anyone hear anything yet..?
I spoke to one of the current students and he said that the process is random.
He got his invite in first week of Jan last year, but he has friends there who got invites in late March too.
But from last year's forums, I seems like majority of the applicants get invites on 6th.

Please post if anyone has info.
this tension is killing me.. I refreshing my email every minute.. no invite yet :-(

Why are people tense? Tension won't get an invite. If it's meant to be you shall get an invite...

Im not sure if today either. Now that I am more calmed down and think about this process, yesterday's email from Leah said that the "review would begin shortly," meaning that it started yesterday at around 4 pm EST and to go through 250 or 300 applications in order to call about 100 people will take some time. I dont think they will be done with this process today and I dont think they will be calling people as they finish reading their applications. They will wait until all apps are read and then select the ones they want. This could take at least a couple more days. Also, Jane Deutsh is the new Admissions Director, not Debra, who was im charge for the last 2 or 3 years (im unsure exactly), but Jane may have a different methodology or process and thus, this is the reason no invites were released yesterday.

Also to SK84, you are right, I have spoken to a few current students at LGO and some got called even in April for an interview. Although I would believe that the rule of thumb is to go to Interviewfest, your call for interview could come even after the official decision deadline.
