I think I heard about this happening in china as well. But you figure it's just a matter of having everyone ad their mother doping for a american wage job in china. Plus mcd develops their employees too, so there is alt of upside even as a mcd branch manager. It's just a matter of relativity, since standard of living is so poor. Actually, I think in the states a mcd manager makes like 65 to 80k. Not bad if you ask me...

And if you become a manager of a cluster, you are doing even better (120k), but the job is intense and few people last a long time but McD's experience is valued in many industries (not only fast food). If you have made a manager/cluster manger/etc - means you got guts and went through quite a selection/training process. It is very good!

P.S. The only drawback is that they still heavily promote only from within :)

yea its funny, growing up you are always told that the worst thing in the world is to work for fast food... but seriously if you make it to regional director, you are set for life... so many horizontal or vertical moves.
