Hi everyone,

I was wondering if you could evaluate my profile. I am most interested in my chances for a top 10 university (MBA). I would love any feedback or insight into schools you think would be a good match for me (I have a preference for INSEAD).

Undergrad: Double Major (Markets Finance & International Finance)
Grad School: Finance (Focus Risk Management)
GMAT: Target 740 (still working on it)
GPA: 3.2

Work experience: 4 years
2 Years: PMA / Equity Research Analyst (Mid-Size Global Macro Hedge Funds; AUM>500M euros)
2 Years: Senior Credit Risk Analyst - Financial Markets (Area of focus: Japanese & Indian Financial Institutions)
Founded a grain merchandiser company on the side (closed) and an other company that still active

Volunteer experience :
- Founded a Rotaract Branch in my city
- In charge of the fund raising department of a small NGO

College Extracurricular:
- Founded a Algorithmic trading club while being trading room operator for the Uni.
- WorldMun Singpore delegate then Head Delegate WorldMun Vancouver (winner of an award )
- Vice President Eco&Finance for the corporate association of my Uni.

Demographic: 26y, Male, Ivorian/Canadian
Language: French / English / Spanish / Dutch
Countries: Lived in Côte D'Ivoire / Ghana / Belgium / Canada

Hi there - thanks for writing! I think you have some solid work experience and extracurriculars. I think your GMAT target is wise for the schools you're interested in. Regarding which schools are a match - that depends on what you'd like to do (and in which geography you'd like to live/work) post-MBA. Can you share some details on that? Thanks!

Hi,

Thank you for your quick answer,
I have a preference for emerging countries (ASEAN [currently taking mandarin lessons], Sub-Saharan Africa). The industries I target are consulting or Private Equity.
Regarding developed countries (UK, Switzerland or Canada).

Thanks for your reply! If you're able to get the GMAT you're targeting, LBS is also a good choice. Top finance schools in the U.S. include Booth, Wharton, and Columbia among others. Queens, Oxford, and Cambridge are also worth a good look.

Hi,

I would like an evaluation of my profile in order to see where I stand in the admission process for a MBA abroad.

Area of Interest : MBA - Marketing
Work Experience : 7 years
Background : IT
Current Employer : Verizon
Undergrad GPA : 83% (I'm not sure how equivalent it is on a 4.0 scale)
GRE : 311 M 157 V 154
TOEFL : yet to take - expired score was 105
10th and 12th grade : 91%
In addition to my IT experience I started my own venture of silk textiles on a small scale through social media.

I'm interested in a decent b school preferably with scholarship.
Mays Business school Texas A&M
Carey School of business ASU
IIT Chicago
Penn State SMEAL school of business
UTD Jindall school of business

Would it be possible for more suggestions of b schools that suit my profile? My main concern would be good placement records.
