(1) The difficulty level each of us feel about one particular question may be quite different from that assigned by GMAT.

(2) For test content coverage, GMAT may have to present test takers (esp. those already at 50-51 range) with slightly easier questions between different areas.

(3) A good strategy is to not to worry about assessing any question's difficult level but to answer each question carefully and speedily. Maintain the momentum. Enjoy the challenge!

Yes, it's possible to get 48+, with 2-3 easy questions in last set, 7-8 questions, of quant section.

Thanks all, will let you know how it goes. Took the exam on Friday. Scored 50-51 on all 6 of the official practices so was a bit alarmed to see the last question be ridiculously easy on the actual exam

Yes, the last few 3-4 questions are easier than the questions in the middle of the Quant section. I scored 49 three times in real gmat and that's what I consistently experienced.
