UCLA announced that it gives the top 25% of the applicants scholarship. The higher you are the more you get.

Just for a quick reference, you can go to the BusinessWeek Rankings for 2006, and it will give an idea of the average scholarship given for the class of 2006 for each school, and it will give the number of full tuition scholarships to be awarded the upcoming school year. Now, I'm not sure if that means the number of full tuition scholarships for only incoming classes, or the total number in both first and second year students. I think its only for incoming students, because Cornell is listed at 25, and I think that's how many Park Fellowships they give out a year. But, I could be wrong, because Emory lists 31, and I can't believe that 1 of every 6 students would get a full tuition scholarship.

EDIT: And Washington Univ. (Olin) says it gives 45 full tuition scholarships. That's A LOT!

Do you have a link or was this topic addressed at an info session?
Or do you have super secret inside sources?

ya, for the number of visits he makes I am sure kryzak has inside sources. Not surprised if the janitor or the pretty maid gave him some tips.

LOL! I did poke my head into every open office at UCLA when I was there to introduce myself... so the janitor does know me ;) (j/k)

Anyway, this was at the infosession at UCLA. The first time I've seen a Elite school post up hard numbers like that regarding scholarships.

Re: Scholarships in Top 20 schools [#permalink]
Reviving this thread to update with Haas' scholarship info:

They give out merit scholarships and "achievement" (against all odds) scholarships to less than 10% of the admits (according to their websites). They do give out some need-based scholarships for up to 17% of the students, I think.
