Hello,
I am an Indian/Male/Engineer/31, 9+ years of work experience in Sales/Marketing - Consumer Products. I have worked with MNC's like Samsung and Carrier and have risen to level of Regional Head from Quality Assurance Analyst. I have a GMAT of 640 and my extra curriculur is average.
Considering my age and score, I understand it will be difficult to get into a decent 2-year MBA program. My main selling point is my career rise, therefore I have decided to concentrate only on 1 year full time programs (accelerated or regular). I am open to European/Asian/US universities but I would like to apply somewhere where placement is good and I have chances to be admitted with the score of 640 (I want to shortist safe universities mainly because my recommender will not write more than 5-6 applications).
Could someone please help in shortlisting one year decent MBA programs? Thanks.
1. You are not too old for 2 years MBA program. However, given your experience adcom will closely be watching your achievements and leadership skills at work.
2. Your GMAT is a little too low, especially considering the demographic you belong to. Why let one number ruin your chances of applying to as well as getting into better business schools? If you scored much better in practice tests, why not retake the GMAT and get as closer to 700 as possible.
3. Your post MBA goals should drive your target school selections. Check out the link in our signature to know how to select your target business school. It mentions how you should use information such as your goals, scores, profile, rankings, etc to figure out a list of schools you should apply.
In conclusion, if you want to apply to schools with good career record, your best chances are with top tier schools and you should think about getting that GMAT up and get some sweet stories from extracurricular. If you wish to discuss your personal profile in detail, please email us.
Good luck!
