I am studying for and will take the GMAT in the next couple of months. However, I am only doing so right now because I have the time to write it. I don't plan on applying to an MBA program for at least a year or possibly two. On the exam day they ask you which 5 schools you'd like to submit your scores to. But, what if I haven't decided which schools I want to apply to? Is there a way for me to choose my 5 schools later on down the road or will I incur another fee for doing so?

another fee. However, some schools accept unofficial scores.

yeah, itll be an extra $28 per school to send them after the fact.

I'd say just pick 5 schools you think you MIGHT apply to, and then next year when you're applying, maybe some of the schools you end up applying to will already have your score.

I've been in the same situation.
You have the time to carry out a quick and dirty research and choose 5 schools will most probably meet your custom criteria ($, location, rank, score, gpa, etc.), chances are at least 3 of the choices will coincide with the more informed decision you will make 1 or 2 years from now - you can always pay the fee for 2 more or even sit for the exam again and simply send the results to 5 more schools - saving $140=5*$28 =) =) =)

Honestly, the 250$ you pay for the exam is for the exam +5 score sends, each additional score send AFTER you sit the exam will be 28$ a pop. So you know what range you will be in, I would just send the score to schools that you will and or might consider in the future. Perhaps even 1 safety?

Sorry. No :(
Also, in most cases you have to send the scores for the year you are applying for. I don't know if there is an official take on it (we can find out I guess) but usually you can't really send it in for 2013 or smth like that....
