Hi Everyone,

I have a few general questions from math
They might be easy but want a confirmation on these

1- is 0 a even number, odd number or none?
2- is 0 negative , positive or neither?
3- When we consider factors of any given number, say for example 25, do we take 1 and 25 also as two factors of 25 (if question asks find the number of factors of 25)

Pls someone who is sure abt these questions, kindly answer

Thanks,
Mohit

1- 0 is an even number by definition.
2- 0 is neither positive nor negative. You can prove this very easily. For a number n to be postitive, n>0. Now is 0>0; NO. Similarly, for a number n to be negative, n<0. Is 0<0;NO.
3-Yes. The total number of positive factors of 25 are = 1,5,25.

1. Zero is an even integer. Zero is nether positive nor negative, but zero is definitely an even number.

An even number is an integer that is "evenly divisible" by 2, i.e., divisible by 2 without a remainder and as zero is evenly divisible by 2 then it must be even (in fact zero is divisible by every integer except zero itself).

An even number is an integer that is "evenly divisible" by 2, i.e., divisible by 2 without a remainder.
An even number is an integer of the form \(n=2k\), where \(k\) is an integer.

An odd number is an integer that is not evenly divisible by 2.
An odd number is an integer of the form \(n=2k+1\), where \(k\) is an integer.

2. Zero is neither negative nor positive.

3. The factors of any positive integer include 1 and this positive integer itself.

Hope it helps.

1- is 0 a even number, odd number or none?
ans- 0 is even integer.

2- is 0 negative , positive or neither?
ans- 0 is neither positive nor a negative integer.

3- When we consider factors of any given number, say for example 25, do we take 1 and 25 also as two factors of 25 (if question asks find the number of factors of 25)
ans- Factors can be positive or negative.1 and the number itself are the two positive factors of any number. 25 has 3 positive factors- 1,5,25.
