Re: St. Gallen 2011 [#permalink]
Hey Folks

Would you mind sharing your motives behind applying to St Gallen please...

I'm going through the program information - website + brochure and it does look like a solid program.

However the drawbacks are also quite apparent - it does not even appear at FT rankings (or am I missing something?) plus it costs 63K CHF which is nearly 50K EUR.

Do they give away scholarships or have fantastic placement or have other strong sides?

Though I couldn't make it to INSEAD, got admits to IE, Queen's and St. Gallen. HSG was the obvious choice because all 3 are regional strong schools. For me, the country of school and the TCO for MBA program carried quite a weightage. In these respect St. Gallen came out at top.

Ihope, sorry what do you mean by TCO? Total Cost of Ownership?
If you mean cost, I thought it'd be quite expensive, taking into account the cost of living in Switzerland, wouldn't it?

Well TCO is Total Cost of Ownership. And it includes, tuition, living, travel for exchange, interviews, project and misc. expenses. Thus to me St. Gallen made sense. Also, do not forget your aspirations - where you want to be post MBA (region, company, domain) and whether those things are favorable in your School of choice.

I think we can meet at linkedin group 'MBA-HSG class of 2012'

Re: St. Gallen 2011 [#permalink]
All,

Have any other people decided to join St. Gallen this fall 2011 ?
I am considering to accept my full admission offerr to St. Gallen, but am still waiting for the result of the emerging market scholarship.
Since the admission letter sent to me did not mention anything about scholarsip.

Is it a norm to receive an admision acceptance letter first and then a scholarship decision will only be released afterwards?
Or was the scholarship decision informed on the same day you were offered an admission?

Any inputs will be helpful :)

Cheers
