Does anyone else struggle to comprehend what the question asks for? I am not this terrible at math but the way GMAT asks the questions, it always gets me.

Does anyone have ideas on how to get over this? I feel like my verbal is getting better but the quant section just kills me.

Hey buddy,

Did you tried this ?

https://gmatclub.com/forum/gmat-math-boo ... 30609.html

See the chapters on Work & Rates, Speed and Distance and to some extents Remainders as well.

Once you are through with this I suggest get GMATClub Quant Tests. With the quality (and quantity) of questions that these tests provide, I think you struggle can definitely be resolved.

Hope this helps!!!

Hi toshpoint0,

The GMAT questions are made in a way that may seem convoluted. I think the problem you mention will go away with adequate practice. After you finish going through the concepts, I must add that if you feel you are particularly looking to discover and improve on your weak areas in Quant; a subscription to GMATCLUB tests is the best way to do that. They are indeed phenomenal and will not only pinpoint your weak areas but also help you improve on them. Do the tests untimed initially and go through the solution of all the questions.

I would also encourage you practice all the questions twice from the latest version of OG and Quant review and I am sure you will start to see some improvements.

Hope this helps. All the best.

Gmat question wordings are typical and generally word problems of Quant take time to comprehend.
It is usual for most non-native speakers to face problems as suggested by SajjadAhmad.
However, this can be overcome by more practice using Official material.
Try to practice more using OG and Quant and Verbal review books and theory from MGMAT guides.
Hope it will be sufficient.

Thank you everyone for your input. I'll start doing more practice problems from the 2017 OG.

Do you guys recommend going in order starting from #1 or is there a better method?

The idea behind asking Quant questions in GMAT is not primarily to check your mathematics but to check how much spontaneously you can think, don't make your preparation formula driven but try and develop your thinking ability on it.
