I gave 520 after preparing for 6 months and scored 520. I took both classroom and private tutoring but of no use. My Target score was 720 but now I am happy even to get 650.
I got 520 with a breakup of Quant 44 and Verbal 19. In the last month before exam, I gave many Prep tests ( 6 prepared by the tutor) , 5 gmat prep and 5 800score in a month and tried to analyse the errors using a error log. I averaged around 620 in gmat prep with a breakup of 44 in quant and 28 in verbal and 500 in score800 with a breakup of 37 in quant and 22 in verbal consistently.
My test strategy as advised by the tutor involved solving as many questions initially as possible and then guessing the rest in the last 2 minutes. I have never been able to solve above 20 - 25 questions after employing this strategy and would eventually guess the rest. I have attached the error log that I have maintained but not understanding the core issue that I need to focus on. I know all the rules of SC and CR but application in exam gets screwed even if there is a little complex language. This issue I found mainly in Quant in the main exam where most of the questions were wordy and understanding them was time consuming. Also, another Issue that I have faced is not getting first 10 questions right, despite spending more than necessary time to solve them. In the actual GMAT, I solved 10 questions with only 30 minutes remaining for both sections and was able to solve 18-20 questions in last 30 minutes. I think guessing 18 questions straight in verbal hurt the score hugely.
I am planning to re appear for GMAT in a months time. Kindly advice of how should I go about with the preparation.
I am planning to study and solve
1) OG Quant
2) Manhattan Sentence correction
3) Power score Bible
4) Kaplan 800
in 4 weeks time with practice questions from Bell curve and giving few OG and other mocks.
Also, please have a look at the error log I have prepared and let me know how to utilize it in the best manner and what all changes should be done to the error log.

I’m sorry to hear how things have been going with your GMAT. Honestly, since you have been preparing for 6 months and recently scored 520, I think that you are unlikely to increase your score by 150 points in just a month. Furthermore, since you have been putting in so much time and have not seen too much improvement, you really need to look at HOW you have been preparing and make some changes, right? Would you like some general advice on how to improve your GMAT quant and verbal skills?

To start, each CAT is really a 'measuring device' - when used correctly, it will give you a realistic score and help define your strengths and weaknesses, but it will NOT help you to fix any of those weaknesses. To raise your scores, you have to learn the necessary Tactics and put in the proper practice and repetitions. The CAT will show you whether your studies are helping you to improve or not. In addition, the process of taking (and reviewing) a CAT requires a significant amount of energy and effort - and takes time to 'recover' from. This is one of the reasons why you typically shouldn't take more than 1 CAT per week - and your last CAT should be taken about 1 week before Test Day. By taking so many CATs in the month before your Official GMAT, there's a reasonable chance that you were 'burned out' on Test Day.
Before I can offer you the specific advice that you’re looking for, it would help if you could provide a bit more information on your timeline and your goals:
1) If you scored 650+ on your next attempt, would you stop studying or would you continue to study until you hit 720+?
2) When are you planning to apply to Business School?
3) What Schools are you planning to apply to?
