Let the number be x.
Now, f(x) = x^2-5
g(x) = 3x.

f(g(2)) = g(2)^2-5
g(2) = 3*2 = 6.
f(g(2)) = 36-5 = 31

E is the answer

Did not understand the flow of this solution. Why did you multiply with 3 before squaring 2?

Solution


Given:
    • The function \(f(x) = x^2 – 5\)
    • The function \(g(x) = x * 3\)

To find:
    • The value of \(f(g(2))\)

Approach and Working:
As \(g(x) = x * 3\),
    • The value of \(g(2) = 2 * 3 = 6\)

Therefore, \(f(g(2)) = f(6) = 6^2 – 5 = 36 – 5 = 31\)

Hence, the correct answer is option E.

Answer: E
