Let the number be x.
Now, f(x) = x^2-5
g(x) = 3x.

f(g(2)) = g(2)^2-5
g(2) = 3*2 = 6.
f(g(2)) = 36-5 = 31

E is the answer

Did not understand the flow of this solution. Why did you multiply with 3 before squaring 2?

Solution

Given:
• The function $$f(x) = x^2 – 5$$
• The function $$g(x) = x * 3$$

To find:
• The value of $$f(g(2))$$

Approach and Working:
As $$g(x) = x * 3$$,
• The value of $$g(2) = 2 * 3 = 6$$

Therefore, $$f(g(2)) = f(6) = 6^2 – 5 = 36 – 5 = 31$$

Hence, the correct answer is option E.
