Bunuel can you please advise if my approach is right.

New average weight= 110+60/2= 85 kgs

Since avg weight of 85 is added to avg weight of 85, the average will remain the same, i.e 85

C is the answer

Let the avg of 7 players be 85 kg.

Then we write as ( X1 + X2 + X3 + X4 + X5 + X6 + X7 ) / 7 = 85.

=> ( X1 + X2 + X3 +......X7 ) = 595 ---> eq 1.

Now two men joined the group lets us assume those two are A (110 ) and B (60) kgs.

Now we have in total 9 members ( 7 players + 2 players )

=> ( X1 + X2 + X3 +......X7 + A + B ) / 9 = Z ( lets us assume that new average of these 9 years as Z ) -- eq 2.

=> Now sub A and B and also eq1 in eq 2.

We get => ( 595 + 110 + 60 ) / 9

=> 85 = Z

Correct option is C.

Yes, that's correct. If the average of one set is x and the average of another set is x, then the average of the two sets combined will also be x.
