Took the test today -640 ( Q-48, V-31). Feel so stupid...(((

Took the test today -640 ( Q-48, V-31). Feel so stupid...((( [#permalink] New post   25 Jun 2004, 13:23
Took the test today-first time. I did not have much time to study, the university just open the master in accounting program in the middle of May and I had a little over a month to prepare for GMAT and TOEFL. Stupidly enough, I tried to study for my CPA exams in the same time. My university does not require high score for accounting program, but I wanted to do the best I could.
Math: I got several probability, combination and deviation problems. I am sure that I blew deviation..((( Not so sure about probability.
Verbal: English is my second language; you can see it from my score :(
I think I did badly on SC, and not so good on RC.

After all, I feel so stupid. :evil: I won a first place in a competition for stupidity. :(

Elena, don't feel so nervous, your score is actually good. 640 is enough to be admitted to an MBA program at top 20 B-schools. It is above 80th percentile, I suggest... I understand your math score really well, because actually people from eastern Europe are good in Math. Verbal is your weakness, if you don't get admitted to the school of your choice, try to improve your Verbal by training more. Read more, solve questions as much time as you can. Solve them systematically, for example, only CRs or SCs. I recommend that you use Kaplan verbal workbook, it is the best prep guide to date for Verbal...

Elena, your score is not so bad, believe me. I know people with much lower score (610) who got admission offers from the universities in top 20.

Actually I would recommend you to prepare for the TOEFL first, then for GMAT Verbal (it is much easier after TOEFL preparation!).

I fell better today already. I have passed TOEFL and got 290. Gmat verbal just kills me. :( My logic somehow always wrong.
Math was more difficult than I expected. I got 2 deviation problems and one probability problem that was really confusing. I suggest that all people who expect do well on math, study deviation.

I think 640 is quite a decent score.
Congrats on the score...

Well i would like to ask you about the deviation question. What kind of deviation question did you see on the test.

nice score... but yes it could bebettered.. and U can ...

I know by now U wud be relaxed and must be having a good time...anyway just wanted to put some ''zeal'' and hence I post this mail...

I do not remember exact questions, sorry. They both were DS.
I had 2 of those. :(
