A. Until recently, the Inuit people led a nomadic existence, sheltering
-> until recently is wrong !!!

B. During recent times, the Inuit people lead a nomadic existence,
sheltering. -> IMO answer

C. In the times that are recent, the Inuit people led a nomadic existence, sheltered. -> awkward times that are recent divides time into diff types

D. Up until recently, the Inuit people, leading a nomadic existence,
have sheltered. -> up until is wrong usage

E. Until recent time, leading a nomadic existence, the Inuit people
were sheltered.-> time leading is wrong

What is wrong with "until recently"? To me, B changes the meaning and there is no issue with the original sentence.

I think usage of until recently is okay when we are using it in PAST TENSE.

led is also past particle of LEAD , so A should be choice of answer.

He worked in NY until recently. <-- ok, I think OK
He has worked in NY until recently. <--- I don't know. And if it's ok, is he still working there. or is that possible? PERFECTLY ACCEPTABLE
He has been working in NY until recently. <--- I don't know. And if it's ok, is he still working there. or is that possible? SOUNDS ODD, NO
He used to work in NY until recently. <--- I don't think it's ok. Too little time has passed to use "used to". OK

I went with A.

Between A) and B) - there's a difference between Until Recently vs During recent times.

Therefore B changes the meaning.

I choose D. But was debating between A and D. Choose D because it is a present perfect tense.

is OA D?
