Wharton EMBA Announces New 2023-24 Essay Prompts Candidates have been eagerly awaiting Wharton's new EMBA essay prompts. Wharton has finally posted them. The school has reduced the word count even further relative to prior years. Two years ago, candidates could write two 750-word essays, a third 500-word essay, and an optional essay. Last year, the school reduced the essay content to two main 500-word essays and an optional essay. This year, the word count has been decreased to two 400-word essays and an optional essay.
The minimal essay content allowed in this year's application means you must be very careful about the content you choose to include. It is prime real estate! You must sell your candidacy well with this small amount of content. The small essay word counts also mean that the recommendations and resume take on more importance because you can use the healthy chunks of content in the recommendations and resume to convey your outstanding qualifications in a compelling manner.
