https://mbaadmit.com/category/emba-embawebinars/Wharton EMBA: EA Score 154 But Quant 9 - Test Again? Many candidates for Wharton’s EMBA program worry about their Executive Assessment scores. They note that the median EA score at Wharton is 155. When they score 155, 154, or 153, they feel reasonably content with that outcome. But, even if their overall score is in that range, candidates whose quant score is 10 or less continue to worry. Should they retake the Executive Assessment to improve their quant score?
In most cases, yes.
Wharton offers a very quantitatively rigorous program, and it does not want to admit students who may struggle in the program. It pays great attention to the quant portion of your Executive Assessment score. Wharton representatives view a 10 as a borderline score. A quant score of 9 can be a cause for rejection. So, don’t assume all will be well if you score in that range on your quant section. If you are able, study and re-test to get your quant score higher. If your quant score simply will not budge, you should reach out to Wharton before the deadline to ask what the school would like you to do.
BUT, don’t reach out to Wharton with a question like that until you revise and hone your resume to be a fantastic application resume (which is different from a job resume). You want your resume to highlight all your best credentials and the qualifications Wharton cares about most. When Wharton representatives see a great resume and believe a candidate will be a terrific addition to their EMBA cohort, they tend to set the bar lower for what that candidate needs to achieve on the EA. In contrast, when they are unimpressed due to a lackluster resume, they will set the bar higher for your EA score and may even advise you to wait a year to apply so you can devote more time to strengthening your quant skills.
If you have specific questions about your EA score and its potential impact on your Wharton EMBA application, feel free to reach out to us.
