Dr. Shel will let you know if she thinks you can be successful as an applicant to a top EMBA program.Wharton EMBA RejectionToday, Wharton informed its Round 1 EMBA applicants about the outcome of their applications, extending congratulations to successful candidates. Unfortunately, some candidates were not admitted or waitlisted, and received unwelcome rejection notifications. Wharton has one of the most competitive EMBA admissions processes. The program sets a high bar for admission, considering factors like essay quality, tenure and seniority, career progression, functional focus, leadership depth, career goals, and the quality of recommendations. It also factors a candidate's college GPA and standardized test score more heavily in its decision than many other top EMBA programs.
If you received a rejection, don't give up on attending a top EMBA program. You might fare well at other top EMBA programs. Consider targeting top alternatives like MIT, Columbia, Booth, Kellogg, Yale, Haas, UCLA, NYU, Cornell, Duke, and Darden. But, before proceeding with other applications, assess and address any weaknesses in your Wharton application or profile, such as uninspiring essays, poorly written recommendations, or a low test score.
To identify problematic areas of your application or credentials, consider a Ding Analysis. You can read in our blog, Ding Analysis Benefits what a good Ding Analysis should help illuminate for you.
