(C) This pattern of reasoning is known as modus tollens and may be expressed this way: If P, then Q. Not Q. Therefore, not P. Choice (C) follows this pattern: If Lionel is in the theater, then he sits in center orchestra. Tonight Lionel is not in center orchestra. Therefore, he must not be in the theater.
