persons/ day /work = 12 * 4
8 times the work = 12 * 4 *8
half the time = 4/2 = 2
Answer = (12*4*8)/2) = 192

Solution:

We see that the rate of each person is (1/4)/12 = 1/48 of the work per day. Therefore, in 2 days, each person can finish 1/48 x 2 = 1/24 of the work. Therefore, the number of people needed to finish 8 times the work in 2 days is 8/(1/24) = 8 x 24 = 192.

Answer: D

Let the total Work = 1

12 persons can do a piece of work in 4 days = 1

12 persons in 1 day = 1/4

1 person in 1 day = 1/48

Work to be done in half the time = 1/48*2 = 1/24.

Person required = 8*24 = 192

To complete the work in half the time -2 days, twice more -24 people are needed. To complete 8 times the work in 2 days, 8 times more - 192 people are needed. D)
