In the x-y plane, the above two straight lines, intersect at the point (3, c). Find the value of a+b?

(1) c = 3

(2) The y-intercept of 2ax + 5y = 17 is 3.4

Lets focus on statement 2 :

We are given 2ax +5y=17 , which becomes 6a+5c=17 after putting (3,c)
So statement 2 says 5y=17 or 5c= 17 , hence c=3.4

This statement also seems suff. as it allows us to find the value of C, although the value seems different from statement 1.
ArvindCrackVerbal please can you please tell me, why we cannot find the value of C from statement 2?
