Hi there,

How much time do you have to study per day? If you are able to devote your entire next week to your GMAT prep, I think you can squeeze in both practice tests and brushing up on the areas that you're having trouble in. If you only have an hour or so per day, my advice would be to concentrate on your problem areas.

Regards,

Elizabeth

Hi Elizabeth,

I took next Mon-Wed off of work so I have ample time to prepare, I just want to be cautious of burning out. As you can see from my scores below, I was doing really well (690, 710) then took a practice test within three days of my 710 and dropped to 650! I'm really hoping for a 700 and it seems my quant score is what's holding me back.

Hi lmariesf,

Good job on your GMAT work so far! This last week should be about consolidating the things that you know and keeping your timing sharp by doing some timed sections (Verbal from GMAT Paper tests, GMAT Focus, MGMAT Quant Sections come to mind). Taking the Exam pack should be fine as well. Overall it's important that you're getting enough rest and getting mentally prepared for the exam. The reality is that you've done your work and now it's time to get your score!

Happy Studies,

A.

Thanks for the tips all. I decided NOT to take a final practice exam before next Wednesday. Based on my scores, I realize I have done the best when I have focused for two weeks on material between tests, rather than taken tests close together. Timing isn't too big of an issue so I've decided to focus more on my foundational weaknesses using the MGMAT Question Banks for quant, and really make sure I can excel on my SC and CR using the GMAT Pill Practice Platform. Fingers crossed I hit that 700 mark!

Welp, I got OWNED. I don't even know what happened, I felt great during the test. IR was tough but I felt great during quant and pretty solid during verbal, though I was starving by the end of it.

I was devastated to see my final score or 600 Q37 V38 and still feel like it has to be a mistake. I've never scored that low on a practice test! I even got a 5 in IR which was better than expected.

Feeling like a failure. Womp.

Sorry to hear that! You got a solid Verbal score - that's good but your quant is not good. Granted 600 is more than an average score, I am guessing you were shooting higher.

What did you use to prepare? What books or courses?

I did the MGMAT self study and the lowest I've ever score in quant is q40 but my average was q44. The lowest verbal was v32 but I got that up to v38-v40 in my last four practice tests. I'm feeling very discouraged...
