A Math-club class has a ratio of girls to boys of 1.5 to 4.5. Out of all the boys 16.66% are left-handed, how many left-handed boys are there in the class assuming that there are 24 students all together.

A. 8
B. 6
C. 5
D. 4
E. 3

Boys =\(\frac{4.5}{1.5+4.5}*24\) => \(18\)

\(16.66\)% = \(\frac{1}{6}\)

So, Total no of left handed boys is \(\frac{1}{6}*18 = 3\) , Answer must be (E)

Since there are a total of 24 students, we can create the equation:

1.5x + 4.5x = 24

6x = 24

x = 4

So there are 6 girls and 18 boys.

Since 16.66%, or 1/6 of the boys are left handed, 1/6 x 18 = 3 boys are left handed.

Total students: 24

G: B = 1.5: 4.5

Boys: \(\frac{4.5 }{ (1.5 + 4.5)} * 24 = 18\)

16.66% of Boys are left-handed: This means 100/6 or 1/6 % are left-handed. Hence, out of 18, there will be 3 bots who are left-handed as \(\frac{3}{18} = \frac{1}{6}\).
