Perimeter \(= \frac{2\pi 8}{2} + 8 + 8 = 8\pi + 16 = 25.12 + 16 = 41.12\)

Perimeter of semicircle = Circumference of circle divided by 2 + diameter = \(\frac{2πr}{2} + d = πr + d\)

Given: r = 8 so d= 2r = 2 * 8= 16 ; π = 3.14 ;

Perimeter of semicircle = 3.14 * 8 + 16 = 25 + 16 = 41

Solution:

Perimeter = (pi)*r + 2r

= (pi)*8 + 2*8

=(pi)*8 + 16

=8*3.14 + 16

=>If you take 3.14 as 3 you would have 40 as answer and hence nearest option is (d).

(option d)

A. 25
B. 16
C. 33
D. 41
E. 58

Since the radius is 8, the diameter is 16, and the circumference is 16π. Half of the circumference is then 8π or approximately 8 x 3.14 ≈ 25.

Thus, the approximate perimeter of the semicircle is 16 + 25 = 41.
