Re: At a corporate board meeting, two advertising ideas A and B are preese [#permalink]

Have a doubt here. It is mentioned that those who support idea A would not support idea B.

As an implication in option (B), since 22 members are in favor of Social Media that implies that none of the members in the group 45% of Total support Social Media (Irrespective of the number). Also among the supporters of idea B that is 55% of the Total, since 22 members support Social Media this implies that the remainder DO NOT support Social Media. So can't we derive the answer from Statement (B) alone?

Any clarification would be much appreciated...Thanks

Hi! Ligeraks,

The question mentions that 55% of people support idea 'B'. And out of these 55%, 22 support social media.

But, since we don't know the exact number of people in board, we would not be able to know what is 58% of 45% who support Idea A and social media. And hence, we will not be able to give a unique number answering 'HOW MANY' in the question.

Hope it helps.

Hi Divyadisha. Many thanks for your clarification. Sorry it may be something I am not getting but doesn't the fact that it is mentioned that those who support A do not support B makes the number of people in A irrelevant in this regards? Thanks...
