I guess you mean to say virtually instant access and virtual instant access

IMO virtually (adverb) modifies adjective(instant )

adverb modifies adjective

At first in history, millions ofpeople have virtual instantaccess from their
homes and offices
to the creative output of a significant — and growing —
fraction of the planet's population.

Thus the reduced stem : People have access to the creative output......................

Vertical scan : A / D / E to fit the bill =============== B & C disappears

2nd split : Bxn A , D , E

A) At first in history................................

(D) For the first of history.......................

(E) For the first time in history.................

which one would u zone in on ? Guess from our daily usage ............... for the first time in history

Leading to E , my take

My thought:

A,C - "At first in history" is awkward, so I eliminated
D, - Not a complete expression
B - the use of "for" sounds like the reason for first time in history some action was completed "for" access, which to me did not make sense in this prompt.
E - sounds more concise, and the "access to" I interpret as the ability to go somewhere for creative thinking

IMO, best choice is E

Yes, in option E, office is missing
So the meaning changed.
Although access to is correct...
