The employees of Quick Corp's accounting department consistently shows a significant jump in productivity in the two weeks before taking a vacation. Clearly, the knowledge that they are about to go a vacation motivates the employees to maximize their productivity.
Brainstorm possible assumptions of the above argument. And explain why you think the assumption/s is/are correct?

1- The employees kept the toughest work/highest productivity for just before the vacation as they tknew they could take rest
2- Might be it's just a conincidence
3- Employees are ready to put in more effort as their vacation as near
4- They want to wrap up their work so that they don't have to pick old task in middle and have to spend some time post return from vacation to understand it from middle
5- They don't wanna waste time explaining it to others to take forward the task when they are on vacation, they want to rather put in some extra effort to wrap it up
There are many assumptions in this statement and many possibilities of explanations.

The assumption two, four and five do not coincide or so to say precede conclusion very well.
Also, I am not sure what did the MGMAT book meant by this assumption "They didn't plan a vacation to occur right after a big deadline or other busy time."?

Suppose my project deadline is two weeks from now (say from 1st of June). As I know that I would have delivered the project deliverables by 1st of June, I plan a vacation from 2nd June.
I now have time from now till 1st of June, to meet the deadline of the project. I would work harder than usual, thereby increasing my productivity. Ultimately, I deliver the project on 1st of June and proceed on vacation from 2nd June.
Now think about it: Was it my planned vacation or was it the project deadline (1st June) that increased my productivity?
Clearly the latter (project deadline).
However, if the argument is concluding that the former (planned vacation) was the reason for my increase my productivity, then the assumption is that latter (project deadline) was not the reason.
That's exactly what the official explanation says.
