This wait is brutal. Why is Darden so late in getting decisions relative to other schools?

Now that R2 app is out of the way, anyone know when the R2 interview will start coming in? I assume sometime in February?

I am from europe and an admission representative contact me to tell me that she would help me through the application process. Besides some current students from my country contacted me afterwards. Quite impressive, any other school has done the same.

I hope the interview invitation will start to go out the next week.

Everyone got the gift basket after they interviewed though, right? No mother-of-pearl spoon for the caviar, but I suppose that would be a bit opulent for these economic times. It's the thought that counts...I guess.

Wait, you got that after you interviewed? Odd.

I guess that stocking full of coal that I got when I submitted my app doesn't bode well for me...

I was stoked about the orange ink Darden pen as well. This wait for Darden news is killing me. Two more weeks, I guess.

Hey all!

Just ten odd days to go ... good luck everyone!

Could someone add me to the list? I'm a R1 applicant and have interviewed already. I think I was invited to interview on 12/1 or maybe a couple days before that. I interviewed on 12/12.

Thanks!

Should I be worried that my status still says "Received"? I applied for R2 and submitted my application on 1/5/09. I know some school never change the status.

I would not worry about it. I do not remember what happened after I applied, but that probably just means they have all of the materials. The only change you should worry about next is invite to interview.

Same. When are you withdrawing your Darden app?

Edit: Here is Darden's description of "Pending Committee Review" from https://dardenadmissions.wordpress.com/2008/11/21/application-status-change/:

Quote:
We have heard a lot of questions regarding the difference between “Pending” and “Pending Committee Review” on your application. There is no difference in terms of where these files are in the process. Our operations staff thought that “Pending Committee Review” would be more descriptive since we have received many questions about what “Pending” meant. In short, all “Pending” statuses changed to “Pending Committee Review.” We hope this clears up any confusion!

LOL. I'm going to wait for an interview invite so I can feed my ego about having received an invitation to interview everywhere I applied.

Besides, a lot of folks at Darden helped me put together a reasonably strong application, so I feel I owe it to them to pursue things just a bit further. In any case, I'm notoriously fickle minded. :)

Good luck R2 people!
