Admitted with a hefty scholarship and coming out to Experience weekend next week. I was completely sold on Kelley and was days away from submitting my deposit, however, I earlier today I got admitted to USC (No news on financial aid yet). Though I doubt that USC will match the offer that I received from Indiana, I was born, raised, and currently live in Los Angeles. I'm specifically interested in Entrepreneurship, so the financial freedom post MBA would be very liberating, however, I'm having a hard time decided between the two. Anyone have any useful advice in selecting between the two?
Admittedly, I'm biased as I will probably matriculate at Kelley (choosing btw them and Ross), but I have not heard a lot of positive things about USC Marshall lately. Their employment-placement prospects seem not great, especially when considering the geographic limitation of jobs in and around Cal / SoCal -- which in itself is not a bad thing at all, but given the cost of living out there, I would be worried about making ends meet on a $90k salary assuming the debt and opportunity cost. Kelley is also somewhat regional -- I think most schools outside the top 5 or 7 sorta are -- but if you're okay with, say, sticking around the Midwest, then Kelley's (already decent) post-grad salary prospects will get you further I would imagine. Their *placement* stats -- i.e., % offered or accepting positions within 3 months of graduation -- have also not been good the past couple of years. I've also heard mixed things about USC's teaching quality and administration. Search around the GMATClub forums for more sentiments, but to me, Kelley should be the way you go
Anyway, looking forward to meeting you (hopefully) next weekend. Curious, but what's your background?
