You have to put your b-day, not your recommender's. When I filled mine, I also thought it was weird, but I assumed they used it for identification purposes.

Yeah. definitely weird. I also remember looking around and not seeing any useful instructions.

I agree that it is a little weird but maybe there could be situations when a recommender is giving out recommendations to multiple applicants with the same name? Though I dont think any of my recommenders would actually know my b'day :)

I believe your birthday is used to compare with your recommender's so the adcoms can be sure that your recommender is actually older than you - not peers reco per se. But you are right though that adcoms can just easily look up your birthday ... maybe for their convenience.

I am sure this topic has been brought up before, but I will do so again..sorry

The 2page dbl space page limit...is it including the essay question which you are supposed to put it at the top??

Hey, I just found the forum. Add me to the list of Kellogg Rd 1 applicants still waiting to here. I interviewed on 11/19 and really hoping to get some good news soon. Living in fear of my gmail notifier and trying to will my cell phone to ring from an "unknown" number is getting to be a little old :)

Good luck to everyone. Hope to see you next year.

Part 1 is pretty easy. I think job responsibilities was the hardest for me. I have an actual job description that has very specific responsibilities but I had to ensure that I didnt put any sensitive information in the form.

Well I think no more dings will be sent out till after the new year. They are waiting until after the holidays to release waitlists. However, they still are sending out admits, they even said they may make some calls over the holiday season.

Only 3 left and by the sound of it forcefeed may be withdrawing after his GSB success.

cool...but does anyone know if there's a place to put part-time work and internships during college? I quickly browsed thru Part 2 and didn't see anything either.

(seems like a number of schools don't have a section to enter this?? weird)

Of the schools I applied to (Duke, Kellogg, Haas, Wharton), I only recall inputting part-time work in the Haas application.

I dont' recall putting part time in Kellogg... I finished Part II of the apps, but still haven't finished the essays yet. Just need 1-2 more days to focus on it and get it out.

hm..interesting...that kinda sucks doesn't it? Like for those who have extensive college work experience like myself, there's nowhere to express this...

put it in your resume. I put my college internship on there because it was relevant to my career.

College work experience that was not relevant, I just left out...except when they specifically ask for it.

I cheked my status today, and it seems that Adcoms added a section to the usual "All the required elements of your application are complete" section:

As a reminder, if you have not submitted official copies of your transcript(s), you must mail them to the Office of Admissions as soon as possible. Students who have not submitted official copies of their transcripts will not be eligible to participate in key fall activities.

My question for admitted students: did you submit the official copies of your transcript before you received your decision?

I don't really see the point of mailing them my official transcripts right now. This might turn out to be a waste of paper and time in case I get dinged.
