Hey,

What’s the best way to answer the question on family and friends. What are the considerations while answering it?

I get admit at LBS and just write: " They encourage me to accomplish my goals"

Hi! I'm planning to apply in R2!

I am from Mexico, 23 years old and I graduated from law school in December 2020 with honors and with a 4 GPA. I have 4 years of work experience in a top law firm in the country specializing in project finance (energy and infrastructure).

I am also an active angel investor, passed the CFA level 1 in February this year, and started an angel syndicate for LATAM investors to invest in Mexican and LATAM startups. We already made our first investment and we're working with several more interesting startups. This kind of syndicate is fairly new in Mexico (there are probably other 4 in the country), so I expect to make a real impact in the startup ecosystem here.

I'd love to connect and share tips on the application process and essays!

Regards,

Benjamin Torrero

Wow great to get to know you - I'm a bit confused about the fact that you say you are 23 years old, graduated law school 7 months ago and have 4 years work experience. Please don't misunderstand the intention, I'm also a lawyer, though not from your country, and am just looking to understand your (admittedly unique sounding) situation! Would definitely love to connect and swap ideas about applying to LBS :)

Hey, what is the average GMAT score for MFA? Would a 670 be good enough? Can any MFA admits guide me with this. Thanks in advance!

Hi I saw a post you made yesterday on the LBS MiM forum assuring someone else that you are going to be starting at LBS next year. Has there been a typo somewhere? You also seem to be slinging some essay writing service that helped you get an admit from LBS with your 610 GMAT. Would you mind sharing clear details about your profile?

Thanks for your tag 1473,
I understand your concern and I have looked into the detail but things seem to be OK for now and things seem to be legit. A little unusual but not over the line.

Folks, what’s the opinion on the additional optional essay? If the rest of the essay gives a good profile overview, is it needed?

bb, noted on your call and thanks for your attention.

ludivine, apologies if I misunderstood your posts. To be clear you are admitted to and attending the mba program at LBS starting next week, right? The users of this website would be delighted to hear your account of how things kick off for your cohort - especially after the disruption across last year - and if you could periodically share updates about your experiences it would help us all out - all this assuming you are able to spare the time, of course! Thanks and best wishes for your time in London!

Hello, I am applying in Round-1. I have about 6 years of work experience but I left my previous company in july due to some conflicts and am supposed to join another company in September. Will this change of job in the application year have any negative impact on my candidacy?

Hello folks ! I’m a prospective LBS applicant and would be applying in Round 1 next year. I have close to 3 years of experience at one of the Big 4s and that includes a virtual project delivery experience for a client based in the UK (this was during the pandemic). In view of the coronavirus pandemic situation. is this treated on par with on-site international experience ? I’ve heard that international experience generally gives your application an edge compared to others who come from a similar background. Also, the primary medium of instruction for me throughout my academic career has been English. So, am I required to take the TOEFL / IELTS ? Thanks in advance !

As per the current application requirements, you aren’t required to give TOEFL/IELTS as long as you have some proof (such as a transcript) that shows that your undergraduate degree was conducted and evaluated in English. A word of caution though is that requirements can change next year, so be mindful of that.

As a fellow applicant, I am not best placed to answer that. Better to talk to a few admissions consultants to get some insights. I’d recommend speaking to Shimri Winters at Aringo
