From a logistical standpoint how does it work. For ex - Would Stern Admit 415 candidates and wait-list (750-415) candidates? Later as candidates start accepting/rejecting admits, they would move from the wait-listed candidates and offer them admits. Is that how it works? Just curious. :roll:

Any R1 applicant still waiting for initial notification..?
Really, I never thought I'd be the one to wait till February when the adcom said in the info session that some people would be receiving their notification then.

Yeah, I second that question. I don't think there was anything reported here yet. Or BW forums AFAIK. Only one (sad and unfortunate) early ding.

so what is the best waitlist strategy?
a- e-mail them instantly to let them know you are very interested in the school... try to find and address weaknesses
b- wait until something major happens to send a communication (promotion, new activity, new GMAT etc...)
c- do nothing...


as for my individual case, I have a 740 and a 3.7 GPA so it cannot be academics... I assume an increase in job responsibilities or an extracurricular activity would help... does that make any sense?

i would appreciate any help from anyone, especially those who got in after being waitlisted...

Anyways, worry not your profile sure caught my attention. As for the adcom, i think the interview call is enough proof.
