Helg, I've heard that Mark Strat takes around 8 hours on average to prepare for classes, is it true?

I decided to take Mini-turbo (with Topel), easy Accounting, Investments and Competitive Strategy, and I'm having serious issues with time (well, actually I'm sleeping less, so it's not time per se, it's sleeping time ). Rhyme told me that I may regret a little now, which I am, but in the not too far future I will enjoy it. You see that's one of the beauties of the GSB, if you like it, while in other schools people are on the core, if you can handle the pressure, you may take advanced classes, and already know some stuff before recruiting (guys from other schools, be cool).

The cons, I don't have classes with helg , though I have classes with many others Gmatclubbers.

I just heard back from Chicago on this issue:

"Thank you for your email. We cannot make a final admissions decision without your official transcripts and test scores on file. We are asking all Round 1 applicants to arrange for this information to be sent to us as soon as possible. "

They were so nice - really makes you want to meet them in person:)

This means - go ahead and ask your undergraduate schools to send your transcripts to Chicago GSB.

Lol, no. Maybe 2 hours.

Weekly reading ~ 3 hrs/week
Group meeting to write up a case - 2 hrs/week
Case write-up finalization ~1 hr/week
So, it's more like 6 hours, but I can see where another 2 may come from (and I don't mean procrastinating! )

Does anybody know whether the GSB actually releases interview invites on or near the 10/29/08 date the admissions people have quoted? Or do they release them a couple weeks after that date, much like Wharton? I can't locate the full 2008 thread to see what happened last year.

They release them on a rolling basis starting on the 29th through till the 11th. If I remember right, there were significantly more interview invites released towards the end (closer to the 11th).

When you get the interview invite really doesn't mean much. I guess it just means your application was on top of the pile and was among the first few to be read.

Well folks, today is the day Chicago may start releasing interview invitations. I suppose most of them won't come out until late this week or early next, though. Best of luck to you all!

At least with Chicago we'll know within two weeks. Some of the other schools seem to be much more open ended...not naming names of course. Good luck to everyone!

Good luck to all! I did this last year and got an invite on the 18th day (invite period was 20 days). Do not lose hope as the days do go by!

Hey guys, I just got an email from Chicago GSB extending an invitation to interview! Looks as though they're starting to roll them out, as promised. Best of luck to everybody!

Congrats! The only GSB email I got today was talking about a Rose chat next week. Don't know why they like to send out other emails the first day of interview invites!

I received that one also. I got excited to see an email from GSB only to see it was a Live Chat notification.
