Who is flying to Chicago for their interview? I am thinking about it as the application encourages it and I hear the school is beautiful. It is far for me though (West Coast).

The school is beautiful and you should definitely check it out and see if you fit. It has a unique culture and it is not a cookie-cutter B-School.
Agreed. The school has a culture unlike the others I visited. You will leave that place feeling pumped up. By the way, I'm still puzzled how people can apply to a school without having visited it. Doesn't that help a person decide he or she wants to attend?

Thanks, I'll go!

I actually had booked a flight to Chicago several months ago but had to change my plans last minute and never got to reschedule.

Thanks guys for your help. I know I'm paranoid and at the moment addicted to my email.

Jesus, I sound like a 'submitted applicant crack whore' where every check of the email is a fix, huh?

Good god I need a life...

I will be flying there as well. Cheap flights from BWI to Midway.

Haven't booked yet, but will by tonight. I'm thinking Nov 21st (Friday). I will fly out Thursday night and try to schedule a Friday afternoon interview, then fly back Friday night.

Where can I find information on submitting official transcripts to chicago GSB? I guess I have 3 options:

a) have transcripts mailed to the GSB from each school
b) Fill out the transcript request form and send those to each school
c) Take sealed transcripts to my interview

I think A is easiest. Is there any advantage to B over the others?

thanks

The way I control the applicant addiction is by continuing to apply to other schools while I wait on the decision from others. It helps keep me somewhat sane.

Regarding my transcripts, I called up the Registrar's Office at my undergrad school and told them that I need to include a transcript request form along with my transcripts because I need it for MBA applications. I'm guessing most schools over here get lots of requests like this and they knew exactly what to do. They just asked me to fax them a copy of the transcript request form and they would include that in the sealed envelope. Subsequently, they mailed me the transcripts and I just took it with me to the interview.

I'm guessing there isn't much of a difference between using A,B or C. I just wanted to follow the instructions as much as I could.

Haha I agree. Today was rough - I totally understand the gmail addiction with the constant refreshing :-).

At least it is only day 1 - maybe by the end of this process we'll have 135 pages to this thread just like last year's :). Everyone seems so passionate about Chicago GSB, more so than some other schools, which is nice to see.

What was the live chat invite about? I wonder if it's a bad sign I wasn't on that email distribution list..

Granted it's a very small sample but what I find interesting is that, when you look only at people who state American

Results are
9A / 8D / 2W = 47%

For all your round 1's
6A / 4D = 60%
Not bad :)

Best odds are if your ethnicity is not US or Indian.

From what I remember, Round 2 was brutal, people waited to see how to approach the slides, then the big chunk of people applying to GSB was in the second round. I believe that's one of the explanations.

I am a re-applicant to the GSB and I went crazy during the invite rollout period last year. One thing that I did to control the email refreshing addiction this year was to create a separate email for all correspondence with schools. I try to check that email one or twice daily. That way, every time I get an email in my regular account, I do not freak out.

You guys can still do it. Just update your contact info with the schools.

Wow. I had no idea they would really be rolling out interview decisions this quickly. Congrats to you guys!

For those that have received interview invites, when did you submit your apps? (if you already answered this I apologize and will scroll back through again to locate your responses)

It's all on the front page of this thread. 10/01 - 10/05 mostly.

Awesome. Thanks for updating that Terp, I hadn't seen it yet. Not that it makes much of a difference, but I submitted on 10/14 as opposed to 10/15 as is stated on the front page.
