Just go the Chicago GSB interview!

I noticed this:

7. Please note that your application status as "Invite to Interview" WILL NOT change even after the interview is completed. Your status will only change once a final decision has been made on May 14, 2008.

Is "May 14, 2008" a typo?

Congrats! The only GSB email I got today was talking about a Rose chat next week. Don't know why they like to send out other emails the first day of interview invites!
I received that one also. I got excited to see an email from GSB only to see it was a Live Chat notification.

Seriously - got the chat email too. They should really send that out some other time. 0_o

In all honesty, from what I have observed and heard, I think that the earlier you get invited, the better your chances. I am not speaking about getting an invite on the 10th day rather than the 12th. I speak about the 1st or 2nd day vs all other days. Seems to me that admissions likes to interview top candidates early so that they can get a feel for a possible yield amongst those people.

I know that many people's apps went complete late and were probably read late. '

This is just an educated guess.

Maybe I am just going crazy and trying to think of conspiracy theories :) These types of things happen when the DOW jumps almost 900 points.

I was invited last year in the last day (or a day before), and I´m here. I know many more people here in the same situation, I think you´re just getting anxious.

Well considering that date has already past, I think it would be safe to say it's a typo !

Maybe that was left in from Rd 3 last year

I think it's a typo, earlier up it says:

2. All interviews must be by completed by December 3rd, regardless of location or by whom the interview is conducted. All final admissions decisions will be released by 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 18th. Please schedule your interview immediately!

I take it that the slots around Thanksgiving time on campus are going to fill up really quick?

Just got an interview call also!

Got a few questions for you guys:

1) I am in Southern California, so unless I get more interviews back east, I was thinking about setting up an interview locally......anything wrong with that? If I get more interviews back east then I will try to plan them all in one trip, but I am not sure i should wait to hear from the other programs before scheduling my Chicago interview.

2) What is Chicago's acceptance rate?

Call or e-mail?

1) It shouldn't make a difference whether or not you interview locally or on-campus. I am from SoCal as well - I will likely interview on-campus if I can get a slot around Thanksgiving time as I'll be in Chicago anyways. If I can't get a slot around then, I'll interview in SoCal.

2) They don't publish it. It used to be in the high 20s. I have no idea what it was last year - if I were to guess, high teens or low 20s?

My application is complete, but under "Tests Verified" it still says no. They are verified for completeness, but no verified date listed. What does everyone else's application status screen say? Especially those that got interview invites this morning.

I feel like most of the people that got interview invites today submitted well before the deadline date?

No test verified date is listed.

Also, I turned in my application about 10 days before the deadline....so not too far in advance.

That is pretty far in advance compared to the applicant pool as a whole. I would assume that over 60% of applications get submitted on the deadline date.

Who is flying to Chicago for their interview? I am thinking about it as the application encourages it and I hear the school is beautiful. It is far for me though (West Coast).
