has anyone purchased any of clearadmit's school guides? they are $30 each, probably mostly public info anyway, but if someone has used these perhaps they could comment on their value.
here is a link to them
https://www.clearadmit.com/guides.htmlWell, just to play devils advocate:
Quote:
-The core curriculum and first-year experience
Blogs, and a simple click on "academics" will give you the same information. A quick conversation with a student will let you tailor your questions to your interests, and ensures you dont write about something that has since changed.

-Leading professors in key fields
Doesnt much matter. A cursory glance at their professor list will tell you this anyway. Moreover, why not write about professors who might actually be related to what you want to do than just try and fit in the most famous one somewhere?
A two second glance will get you the same names.
Quote:
-Student clubs and conferences
I have yet to see a school that doesnt have this information prominently displayed - complete with student run websites, up to date information, and most importantly, contact details.
Quote:
-Full-time job placement - by industry and location
Again, what school doesnt have this most up to date information online? And its much more detailed than just industry or location.
Quote:
-Student demographics
Its basically the same everywhere. Primary male, some female, some international, some married.
Quote:
-International and experiential learning programs
Again a ten second cursory glance will find this information at any school. I was able to find it for GSB in about five clicks. I found it for Kellogg in ten.
Quote:
-Tuition, financial aid and scholarships
Again, all online.
Meh, seems like waste to me.
