Hi slbh.
The first thing you want to do to prepare for Data Insights is to master GMAT Quant and Verbal since the basic skills you'll need for Data Insights are the same ones you'll develop in preparing for Quant and Verbal.
Once you've mastered Quant and Verbal, you can then move on to Data Insights and do the following:
- Learn how to go about answering DS questions. There are concepts, such as the concept of a C trap, and strategies such as restating the question, that you can learn from a good prep resource that will help you answer DS questions efficiently and correctly.
- Learn about the various different types of graphs that appear in Graphics Interpretation questions.
- Learn strategies for sorting the tables in Table Analysis questions to present the information in the tables in ways in which you can use it most efficiently.
- Learn how to use implications and constraints to answer Two-Part Analysis questions and Multi-Source Reasoning questions.
Much of this you can do just by practicing, but using a good resource, such as
TTP, will help you learn faster and provide insights.
