Re: If x and y are positive integers, what is the value of x? [#permalink]
Statement 1) \(3^x * 5^y = 1125\) by factorizing 1125 we get \(1125= 3^2 * 5^3\) which is sufficient and answers the value of x

Statement 2) Insufficient as it provides the value of y. It could have been used as a hint to indicate the value to be used in statement 1)

The answer is A
